Terms & Conditions
This page contains the public policy information required for marketplace use and payment-provider onboarding.

FarmMarket connects farmers, retailer customers, residential customers, and vendors through one marketplace. By using the platform, users agree to the policies below.

1. Terms & Conditions
  1. FarmMarket provides a marketplace where approved users can list produce, products, services, adverts, and demand requests.
  2. Users are responsible for the accuracy of their profile, contact details, banking details, product details, pricing, and fulfilment commitments.
  3. Marketplace credit, settlement, payout, and advert billing rules apply where those services are used.
  4. FarmMarket may suspend listings, adverts, payouts, or account features where fraud, non-performance, compliance failure, or dispute risk exists.
  5. Use of the platform is subject to South African law and the operational rules published on the platform.
2. Privacy / POPIA Policy

FarmMarket collects and uses personal and business information only as needed to operate the platform, support orders, settlements, compliance, communication, and account security.

  • Personal information may include name, surname, phone number, email address, physical address, banking details, and order history.
  • Information is used for platform operation, payment processing, settlement, fulfilment communication, support, and legal compliance.
  • Information is not sold as a standalone data product.
  • Access is limited to authorised operational, support, and compliance use where required.
  • Users may request updates to incorrect account information through their profile pages.
3. Refund / Cancellation Policy

Refunds and cancellations are handled according to order status, fulfilment status, and the payment path used.

  • If an order is cancelled before fulfilment, held marketplace credit may be released back to the buyer.
  • If payment was made through an external provider, refunds may depend on provider processing rules and timing.
  • FarmMarket may pause settlement release while a dispute or fulfilment issue is reviewed.
  • Approved refunds are processed back to the applicable balance or payment route used for the transaction, subject to operational review.
4. Returns Policy

Where delivery applies, returns are handled based on the type of goods, condition on delivery, and any agreed order terms.

  • Perishable items must be reported immediately if there is a quality or quantity issue.
  • Non-perishable products or vendor goods must be reported within a reasonable time after delivery or collection.
  • Returns may be declined where goods were accepted without timely complaint or were damaged after receipt.
  • Return approval may require photos, order references, and a support or dispute review.
5. Shipping Policy

Delivery, collection, pickup, Pudo, or other fulfilment methods depend on the listing, seller profile, and what the parties agree for that order.

  • Some listings may be pickup only.
  • Some sellers may deliver directly to the customer.
  • Where Pudo or another delivery method is used, the buyer and seller must ensure the delivery details are correct before fulfilment.
  • Delivery timing can vary by product, seller capacity, and distance.
  • Shipping or delivery costs, where applicable, must be clearly agreed before or during the order process.
